Building Plan Reviews
The Waltham Fire Prevention Office reviews all plans and documents related to construction and building permits as required by 780 CMR (Massachusetts State Building Code). Site plans are reviewed to ensure that new buildings provide adequate access for fire and other emergency apparatus. Construction plans are reviewed to ensure that fire protection systems (fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems) are designed properly and meet all code requirements. The building plan review period is typically 3-10 days and fees are as follows:
- Residential $50
- Commercial $100
- 21 E Search - Written $30
