Fire Prevention Staff

The Waltham Fire Prevention Team is comprised of one Deputy Chief and three Lieutenants, along with administrative staff, who operate the office at 175 Lexington Street five days a week (Monday-Friday 6:30am-4:30pm). Our Fire Prevention officers have received special training and certification on arson investigation, building plan review, fire prevention laws and codes, and fire education.

  • Deputy Chief Cliff Richardson
  • Lt. Ron Johnson
  • Lt. Scott Perry
  • Lt. Mike Murphy
  • Jen Fitzgerald
  • Paula Callahan

Other WFD fire fighters and officers are assigned to assist Fire Prevention from time-to-time, especially with our fire education efforts. We have many fire and life safety education instructors that have completed special Massachusetts Fire Fighting Academy courses in the subject. Additionally, Fire Department personnel often work details to help ensure compliance with fire laws and codes. Front-line fire companies also assist with various smoke detector and commercial property inspections, as well as quarterly inspections mandated by State Law.

Remember to check your smoke detectors when you change your clocks!!
